Velvety Star Pants

One of one velvet pants reconstructed from two second hand garments and deadstock materials.

Designed with star shaped side panels that wrap around the hips and legs, creating a hug. The elastic waistband offers comfort, while drawstrings at the hem allow the fit to be adjusted and help keep the pants secure while cycling.

Upcycling Process

• Deconstructed two second hand pants and selected the velvet garment as the base

• Created star shaped side panels from the second garment

• Integrated the panels to contour the hips and legs

• Added an elastic waistband for comfort and flexibility

• Added drawstrings at the leg hems for adjustability and practicality

• Carefully pressed and finished the garment by hand
